What Do I Need To Bring?

Required:  Water jug and food cooler with your first and last name written on each with a Sharpie.

Recommended:  Sunscreen, lip balm, a few band aids (we do supply first aid supplies).

What Do I Need To Wear?

Gloves, glasses, hat, and mesh mosquito net cover will be provided - these items are the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and must be worn at all times while in the field.

Rain gear for first few hours of the day when the corn is wet.  (Lawn/leaf bags work great also.)

Long sleeve shirt, long shorts or pants (no jeans), long socks, old athletic shoes, hat, and bandana.   It is recommended that workers bring an extra pair of socks.

Please realize that for some seed companies, workers are required to have all their skin on their arms and legs covered.  Instead of long pants for the legs, we recommend long shorts and long socks to cover all the skin on the legs.  (Soccer socks work the best due to their length.) Or shorts with spandex or leggings.

Special Note:  Once the season gets started, a typical day can consist of each crew traveling 30 to 45 minutes to a field to begin work.  Each crew may then travel 10 to 20 minutes between 2 to 3 different fields throughout the day.  Most crews should return to their pick up/drop off location by 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Some days may be shorter or longer.  Please pack enough food/snacks for anticipated long days.  We will have a water supply available to all workers.
